Arriving with Mey ~ 3 Day #Quote Challenge

Thank you very much Cyranny over at “Cyranny’s Cove” for inviting me a couple of days ago to the 3 Day Quote Challenge. I feel much honoured and am a little embarrassed that I forgot all about it in my muddled blogging brain.

And look: I managed day two 😉

Woopsie, nearly forgot to post the rules:

– Thank the person who nominated you.
– Post a quote for three consecutive days (1 quote for each day).
– Share why this quote appeals so much to you.
– Nominate 3 different bloggers for each day.

But I have to adjust a little:

Wanted to find a German who might have said something about Friday the 13th but somehow only Pushkin seemed to have said something about it and he is not German. Duh. So to honour this poor bullied and misunderstood day I’ve decided to go a little musical.

This is a part of the lyrics of a song by singer/songwriter Reinhard Mey. I love the man because of his humorous but often also socially critical songs

copyright is purely with Reinhard Mey not with me nor the person who put it on YouTube

This “quote” means:

“Will arrive on Friday 13th at 2 pm… then I look at the calendar and I am shocked: It’s the 12th and Thursday!”

The song basically tells the story of a man who’s girlfriend sends a telegram (yes some of us remember the times before emails and smartphones LOL) saying she’ll arrive on Friday the 13th and he gets all busy with preparing everything. Of course, everything goes wrong, it gets later and later and in the end, he sits at the police station because his Dachshund bit the policeman. There he’ll have a look at a calendar and it’s still Thursday the 12th.

That proves the point of Mindfulness, doesn’t it? If the poor sod would have been calm and thought at first he would have figured that he had a day or so to get organised. But on the other hand, we would miss a funny song 🙂

I know I cheated a little today but I just could not help myself 😉 and here are my nominees:

  1. Therapy Bits
  2. Life-:-)-life
  3. Wildflower Women
