Lean Against… and Listen ~26Nov16

No “Lean against… and listen” last week but now we are back. And maybe you want to try it out too and let me know about your little excursion into the wild Storytellers realm 🙂

I quote Kasey Mathews from the WANA group “Write to Heal” for this writing prompt:

“With paper and pen, or computer handy, lean back in your chair, or against the wall, or a sofa, etc., close your eyes and imagine you are sitting under a large tree with your back resting against the trunk. On the other side of the tree, a Storyteller has come to sit down and also rest against the tree trunk. With eyes still closed, just listen. Wait for the Storyteller to begin his or her story. When you hear it begin, simply write down all that you hear. “

How quiet it is. I have come into the woods. Again. And again. And again. I will always come to the woods. No, I have not build a hut there to live deliberately even though I have contemplated it many times. I suspect the United States in the 1900’s offered more space than Britain nowadays.

And there are so little woods in this not yet godforsaken country. However, the empire and its ships had taken its toll. Is that why it is so quiet? Britain’s ghosts come rushing in to defend a liberal and democratic country that might be gone soon?

But what would I know? I have only come to the woods. Again. And again. And again. I will always come to the woods. And maybe one day I will build a hut and live deliberately.
