#Poem at night ~ Tor

September 2016

In June 2012 we had the half term holidays to go to Glastonbury which we enjoyed even though the weather was horrendous. I wrote a poem about one of the fascinating ancient monuments that make Britain great: The Tor

June 2012

 Ancient gate

way back

into mystery

no Arthur

nor Guenevere

your winding paths

the sea

from afar

greets us

Jurassic hills

slowly give away

their secrets

you send us back

into  secrecy

  1. Last time I visited the Tor I had the good fortune to catch sight of a huge murmuration of starlings, swooping and wheeling overhead for nearly half an hour in the sunset, it was amazing.
