Song Lyric Sunday ~ Feeling Good

One of my favourite songs that often helps me through troubled times is “Feeling Good” (source Wikipedia) written by English songwriters Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse for the musical The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd.
Most of you probably know the legendary version of Nina Simone. I am also a huge fan of Muse‘s version and a few months ago Avicii has done one too. That is the one I am sharing with you today.
I think this song is just great. It doesn’t seem to me like you can do a bad version of it because it says so much about hope, new beginnings and personal growth. So enjoy Avicci‘s “Feeling Good” for Helen’s “Song Lyric Sunday”
Lyrics from A-Z Lyrics

“Feeling Good”

Birds flying high you know how I feel
Sun in the sky you know how I feel
Breeze driftin’ on by you know how I feel. It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life for me yeah
And I’m feeling goodFish in the sea you know how I feel
River running free you know how I feel
Blossom on the tree you know how I feelIt’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
For me
And I’m feeling good
And I’m feeling goodDragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don’t you know
Butterflies all havin’ fun you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done that’s what I mean
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world for meStars when you shine you know how I feel
Scent of the pine you know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine
And I know how I feel

[x2:]
It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
For me

And I’m feeling good
And I’m feeling good

  1. Yeah, Muse just kill this song live, it’s amazing.

  2. I hadn’t heard this version of it before, but I rather enjoyed it. I still prefer Muse’s version of it and perhaps Michael Buble, but like you said, it’s such a great song, it’s hard to do a bad cover of it.

I’m happy the theme worked for your post. It’s always fun when that happens. 😉

    Thanks, Bee!!
