A #poem that was hard to #translate

Standard

July 1016

I wrote the following post in April 2010 at about the time when I left my ex-partner. It actually happened a month later but I suspect I didn’t know that yet 🙂

April 2010

I thought I had done a few silly poem but I haven’t. Seems I have a new project.

This one is one of my favourites. I wrote it on a holiday on my own on Borkum a German island close to the Dutch border in 200o or 2001. I wrote it in German and translated it today into English:

To be

no words

disturb

eyes

touch

you – me

wander

over sea

fall behind

dreams

to be

nothing more!

German original:

Dasein

Kein Wort

stört

Ein Blick

streift

Dich – mich

wandert

ĂĽbers Meer

fällt hinter

die Sehnsucht

Da sein

mehr nicht!

  1. Ah, bravo!! such a lovely poem and I know what you mean about translating…if I compose something in French, it is never quite the same translated.
