Habits of Kindness and Gratitude (2)

On Monday I wrote about an article, that suggests 5 habits to make us happier. I also challenged you and myself to follow these habits for a week and share what has happened.

Here is a reminder of what these habits are:

  • Recall three things you’re grateful for.
  • EditJournal one great experience you had.
  • Exercise
  • Meditate
  • Perform a random act of kindness.

So have I followed them so far?

Not yet 🙂 sorry :-).

I have meditated on all days and have used guided meditations this week. I find them very helpful especially when I’m rather anxious as it is then hard to concentrate.

I have not done any of the other habits even though I tend to say thanks to the universe throughout my day for good things in my life. Maybe that counts.

Today I got the rubbish bins in for the neighbours and us. Usually the best husband in the world does that but he had to work at 3am so I thought its a nice thing to take the task of him.Let’s count that as a random act of kindness :-).

While doing that I had a great experience. We live at a corner of a main road where it is quite difficult to cross the street because you literally see nothing. When I came back from the neighbours an elderly couple stood at the other side of the road and told me about the oncoming cars. We had the chance to walk a little along the path in front of our house. They were on the way to the pub in the village and we had a little chat. Very kind people :-).

I am grateful for the chance of blogging, the roof over my head and my family and friends both off and online.

And I won’t mention exercise: it is just too hot for it :-).

But what about you? Have you tried these habits and what happened?
