#Poem at night: War

I have never been in a war. In 1997 though I tried to figure out how it might be. This poem is what came from it:

War 97

Cracking hits my ears
while I try to flee
from invisible enemies

I can’t see the soldier
but his bombs
destroy my dreams constantly.
Shouts gorge my hopes
of a life
without fear.
But I am tormented by

experienced agony
until the end of my days.
