Starting Creatively ~ 26Dec16

I liked last week’s video prompt very much so I’ve decided to choose another one for this week :-)!

video credit: Juan G Pagan via YouTube

I have posted a few poetry prompts over the years and I want to post some more prompts.

However, I know that there are so many poetry prompts out there that one certainly doesn’t need mine on top of that. However, I believe that we often hit a wall with blogging because we do not have another idea what to blog about. Or we hit a wall with any of our creative endeavours because the ideas run out. Therefore I am going to start another one. It might not be totally regular. And it might be a little “open minded” or a little “Stream of Consciousness” as you can see above🙂. But it will be fun and thought-provoking and creative🙂

My new “Starting Creatively” prompt isn’t restricted to one art. I give you the prompt and you choose how you want to put it into practice: Take a photo, write a poem, write a blog post or essay, draw a picture, create a dance routine, make music with it. You choose!

It is mainly meant for those times when your ideas run out and you need a little push. For this week I choose the first prompt I’ve ever created with a little editing of course :-).

Creatively Starting taking part suggestions

  • remember it when you run out of ideas
  • use it in any way you like (song, photo, story, dance, drawing….)
  • put a pingback to this post so I can share it with as many followers as possible
  • Have fun

Now go, create and have lots of fun!

Well, this prompt might not be very creative but alas I love food and right now I can not indulge as I have trouble with my stomach.

Therefore I channel my frustration and write some poems :-).

So please join me in my venture for this week’s “Starting Creatively” prompt

“FOOD”

Write, verse, dance, paint, sing, get creative in any way you feel like and

have fun!

September 2016

This Creatively Starting post hopefully makes you smile 🙂

August 2012

We have been to Germany on our holiday and visited a place called Noerdlingen. It is in the south of the country still pretty much medieval in architecture with the wall around still standing and somehow they have been taken to pigs. All over the place you can find little statues like this:

IMG_20120823_143546

They reminded me of the German saying “So eine Sauerei” which means “Such a mess”. But the word for “mess” in German has to do with the German word for “pig” which is “Sau”. So literally translated it would be this week’s Creatively Starting prompt:

“Such a piggery”!

I admit a bit far-fetched but maybe it inspires you anyway :-)!

Write, verse, paint, dance, photography and/or get creative in any way you see fit.

Starting Creatively ~ 7Nov16 ~ Let's go to the beach

Standard

September 2016

I love to go to the beach in autumn or winter. I love the waves and the wind and the feeling of freedom it gives me when there is hardly anybody around. A very inspiring place to be :-). However, the post was originally written in summer and I know that there are some readers where summer is soon with them 🙂

July 2012

Not everywhere but here in Norfolk UK summer has arrived at last and the nation moves to the beach. That is why this week’s Creatively Starting Prompt is:

Let’s go to the beach…..!

Write, verse, dance, sing, paint, get creative in any way you feel fit.

Have fun!

September 2016

Another week is around and I hope it will be a good one for all of us. Just in case your ideas run out for your creative endeavours here is a prompt from 2012 that still holds some fascination:

June 2012

As long as I was supporting the #frapalymo project of @FrauPaulchen it seemed to me that many readers liked the prompts we were given even though not many seemed to have written a poem or wanted to post one here.

That is a shame but maybe you just have to get more used to it. Or I have to explain them more. Anyway, I decided as we always search for inspiration (and sometimes there is just none) to provide an idea every Monday that you may or may not follow throughout the week.

For this week my little project is to write poems (draw pictures, take a photo, make a dance, create a song, write a story….) about places you have visited on your holiday. It can just be a poetic description of the place or just how it made you feel or whatever comes to mind. Be free ~ be lyrical 🙂 ~ be creative!

So my Prompt for this week is:

Beloved places you visited on your holiday!

Starting Creatively ~ Home ~ Mo 17Oct16

September 2016

This idea of creating a general prompt for creating in whichever art you want to create and when you run out of ideas does start to grow on me. I can’t wait to find out if it inspires anyone.

I am recycling one from four years ago but I think “home” is a prompt you can use again and again:

June 2012

Last night I could not sleep and I was thinking about this blog. I am really excited that I have a project that I can work on for while and having a new prompt every week is brilliant. Got my pen and journal out and jotted down some ideas for the #MondayPrompts. This morning I decided that the theme for

the  “Monday Prompt” for this week is:

HOME

It can be a poem (picture, dance, painting, song…) that you have written before or use the theme for new creations. It can be about what “home” means for you in general but also the real place you come from or you now feel home at. Let’s get creative :-). You may create just one piece of art and link it to this blog or create one every day depending on how you have time and link them as well. It is up to you!

Creatively Starting ~ What's in a name

I didn’t realise I started writing prompts so early in my blogging “career”. As early as 2012 I tried out to establish a poetry prompt. A few more happened over the years which were not very successful. Now I know that there are so many poetry prompts out there that one certainly doesn’t need mine on top of that. However, I believe that we often hit a wall with blogging because we do not have another idea what to blog about. Or we hit a wall with any of our creative endeavours because the ideas run out.
